Im amazed at the breadth of knowledge and skill a TL needs in regards to acquisitions.

What are the benefits of considering the process of acquisition separately from the process of selection?

Both process involve some similar tasks, and in a school library they will often be done by the TL. Selection is the process of deciding what resources the library may want to acquire and acquisition is the process of placing, tracking and processing the order.

In what ways is information technology changing acquisition?

• ·      Technology allows for easier comparison of prices and suppliers
• ·      Tracking orders is simplified and may not require a phone call but a look on the suppliers website

On a personal note was really pleased that this module was much smaller than the previous….was beginning to feel a little overwhelmed with the work load.
